Ultimates3 - Issue2

Someone had noticed that there was a difference between the double page spread that I posted, and the one that was published. So here's a rather rare glimpse behind the scenes of comic creation.

After the page was done, I was told that the lights underneath the bridge didn't match the previous page. Unfortunately I didn't have a file with everything in different layers, so I had to painstakingly remove the original, and draw in two new ones.

I had to stare at the two pics for a couple of minutes before I even noticed the difference! It might have been more obvious in the printed peice but it didn't make it there right?

Anyway, the pencils and lighting(coloring) are so good I think this is one minor detail that you could have let go. I think most fans are just so freaking happy that Joe Mad penciled and Liquid colored that we'd forgive a lot more than you might imagine.

We just don't like issues being marketed two years in advance for absolutely no reason. When two of best come together to work on a high profile project (not to mention ANY project) fans just what to no WHERE to buy it......not a WHEN....sometime in the distant future....not even a soon.....tell us where to buy it NOW.

Keep rockin' your talent!

I completely agree. Please keep in mind, that it's not our call to announce a project or not, that's usually what the publisher does.

I DID forget. Thanks for straightening me out. It's still frustrating, though....obviously. I think most of us have the same complaints about video games and movies. I remember Final Fantasy X and FF12 being announced thousands of years in advance(slight exaggeration for melodrama) and buying the games with an "it's about mutha effin time!" and then blowing my retailers hand off with my sawed off shot gun as he reached for the cabbage. "Damn you Squeeeeenix!" ;) Top quality products are almost always worth the wait but often not worth the anitcipation. Or something like that.

I hope they pay you well with all the hard work you put into coloring.

Man that sucks when that happens. Happened to me a couple of projects ago. I was lettering a book and noticed that a tombstone was missing the cross on the top of it that had appeared in the previous couple of pages. The inker and colorer both missed it, and we had to go back and fix it. It seems like such a tiny thing, but it can be such a pain in the ass, especially when you catch it last minute.

again very cool.
I did like the web shooters poking out from the costume though. the webs just coming out of nowhere when he had the shooters for some reason always bothered me.
(if that tiny bit of light is metal that is, and not just web)
